Over the next few weeks, we are going to let our new neighbours on the upper floor of De Courcy’s Arcade introduce themselves via our blog. The upstairs part of the arcade has a vintage feel which begins with the sounds of the 1950s playing in the stairwell as you walk up. So it seems fitting that our neighbour introductions begin with Samantha, the owner of The Cup & Saucer vintage tea room, whose traditional loose leaf tea and wonderful honey cake we enjoyed sampling yesterday. So, over to Samantha…
The Cup & Saucer Vintage Tea Room was born out of a love of baking and all things vintage. I have always been a ‘feeder’ and loved nothing better than creating desserts for friends and family get togethers or sending my husband off to sea with a box of cakes for him and the crew.
When the opportunity arose to invite people to leave the hussle, bussle, stress and strain of modern life behind and step back in time, while feeding them delicious home baking, fresh ground coffee and quality loose leaf teas, I simply couldn’t say no.
I live the whole vintage lifestyle and The Cup & Saucer is just an extension of our home from the mid-century décor to the music playing as you peruse the reasonably priced Vintage Kitchenalia or take Afternoon Tea.
My first year has been a truly remarkable adventure made all the more enjoyable by the many lovely people I have met.
